Pulaski Democrats Retain Majority, Look Ahead To 2008!

"Being a Democrat, means: for smarter government, and against taxing the future. We must learn from the past, live in the present, and preserve the future." - Dick Cranwell, Chairman, Virginia Democratic Party

With the start of a new year, Democrats have a proud list of accomplishments to look back on, and busy times ahead. 2007 saw the retirement of two of our constitutional officers, Rose Marie Tickle and Jack Gill. We're grateful for their dedication and service to Pulaski's citizens, and wish them the best in the future.

Fortunately, with the election results of November 6th, two strong and experienced candidates were elected to step in to fill the void. Trina Rupe was elected as the new Commissioner of Revenue and Melinda Worrell became the new Treasurer. Additionally, County Democrats were able to retain their majority on the Board of Supervisors, and held all five constitutional offices.

Now as we look forward to 2008, times will be busy as we work to elect Mark Warner as the second Democratic Senator from the Commonwealth, re-elect Congressman Rick Boucher as he continues to work hard for the Fightin' Ninth, and elect a new Democratic President who will lead our country in a promising future.

We look forward to working with Democrats here locally and from across the Commonwealth to ensure Democratic victories in November!!

Thank you for your continued support!
